Something Old, Something New
Merging the past with the present was the goal with this contemporary heritage home. Through working with the clients during the initial design and selections process, we had an understanding of the look and feel of the materials that needed to be used, not just for the restoration of the heritage home but further transitioning into the contemporary new entertaining area.
This Brighton home uses a light, open and spacious feel, dominated with a fresh white pallet and natural earthy surfaces such as stone, marble, and concrete in the living area, While its use of timber in the ensuite and wood grain finishes in the vanity payed homage to the homes heritage roots. The finishing touches of geometric patterns and black handles, tap ware and window frames brings it all together and adds a modernized, classy feel to the space.
Classic living
The kitchen was designed to compliment the industrial materials used in the living area, such as the exposed brick walls, full commercial window frames and polished concrete floors.
Custom fabricated white Infinity bench tops with waterfall ends and Innolac white gloss panels were used to create a sleek, inviting and open kitchen. To then merge the living area and kitchen together, a single ceramic panel with a grey vein created the bar back which continued into the matching kitchen splash back.
Working together with the construction team, we continued the industrial style from the living area to the outdoors.
By joining classic joinery and tap ware with the polished concrete we were able to create a unique and spectacular barbecue setting.
